Role Summary

This is a newly created generalist role offering variety and the opportunity to work with staff from all areas of NSW Ambulance. Based at the State Operations Centre in Sydney Olympic Park, you will deliver practical, people-focused support across the employee lifecycle and be the go-to for frontline leaders and team members on HR and ER matters.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clear, practical advice to leaders and employees across HR and ER matters.
  • Support grievance, performance management, and workplace investigations.
  • Interpret awards and communicate in plain language.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant HR records and systems.
  • Contribute to HR projects that improve the employee and manager experience.
About You

We are looking for a confident communicator and natural problem-solver with a proven track record of building trust across all levels of an organisation. You should balance compliance with a people-first HR approach and be willing to roll up your sleeves.

  • Proven experience in HR advisory or generalist roles.
  • Solid knowledge of employment law and modern awards.
  • Experience coaching managers through performance and conduct matters.
  • Experience supporting a high performance culture.
  • Ability to interpret and apply HR policies with consistency and care.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and experience managing employee records and systems.
  • Proactive, collaborative mindset and results-oriented teamwork.
