Senior Research Fellow
Fixed term until 2029 | Part-Time 0.6 FTE
Research (Academic) Level C |$138,124 - $158,885 p.a. pro rata
We are seeking a Senior Research Fellow (Clinical) to lead research that supports the co-design, implementation, and evaluation of innovative, multidisciplinary team (MDT)-based primary care models for older Australians. Working with Aged Care Research & Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA) on this MRFF grant funded work, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with ARIIA Chief Investigators, the Professor of Primary Care and System Integration, and key industry partners including the National Multidisciplinary Primary Care Research, Policy and Advocacy Consortium.
The role involves in-depth analysis of critical elements of MDT care for older Australians, using both local and national examples to inform best practices. Based at ARIIA, the Senior Research Fellow will contribute to a high-performing national team with extensive expertise in mixed methods research, evidence synthesis, healthcare evaluation and policy recommendations.
The role will engage with diverse stakeholders across the aged care sector, integrating their insights to strengthen MDT-based care models for older Australians. This work is central to building the evidence base for future-focused, team-based primary care in Australia.
Please note, this role can be undertaken remotely within Australian but does not have provision to support candidates seeking relocation or visa support.
Aged Care Research and Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA) continues to transform the way we care for Older Australians. Funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, ARIIA delivers activities across three workstreams to improve aged care for all Australians. Bringing together consumers, industry and researchers, ARIIA translates research into practice to modernise and pave the way for sector wide improvements, making a real and meaningful change to the aged care sector.
About You
You will hold a PhD (or equivalent) in a field relevant to aged care and/or health care and be a qualified health professional eligible for registration in Australia.
With at least five years of clinical experience in primary care, aged care, or gerontology, you bring a deep understanding of healthcare delivery. Your strong research track record includes high-quality publications (preferably with first authorship), competitive grants, or demonstrated impact in policy or industry settings.
You have proven expertise in evidence-based project delivery, quality improvement, or policy development within aged or health care contexts. Skilled in project management, you work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
Your ability to engage stakeholders is supported by excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You have experience building collaborative partnerships with industry, consumers, and research end-users, and are confident leading and supporting the coordination of research activities in a dynamic, high-performance environment. Knowledge of the aged care sector is desirable.
