Due to our growth, we are looking for a Security Operations Engineer to join our Operations team. This role is based in Canberra and is crucial for protecting assets, maintaining compliance, and enhancing the security of our cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
  1. Implement robust security policies, procedures, and systems to safeguard classified environments of national significance.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify vulnerabilities, address risks, and ensure data integrity and security.
  3. Contribute to the development of our security architecture and influence key design decisions.
  4. Stay updated on security technologies and controls to improve security measures.
Qualifications:
  • NV1 Clearance (Australian Citizenship)
  • Strong understanding of networking services, protocols, and OSI model
  • Ability to analyze security logs and identify anomalies
  • Proficiency in building and utilizing virtual environments, including automation via CLI
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience supporting Linux environments and scripting languages such as Bash or Python
  • Flexibility for a 24/7 roster
  • Understanding of security frameworks like NIST, ISM, E8
  • Experience with SIEM alert monitoring and incident response
  • Ability to interpret threat intelligence reports and implement security measures
