Overview
To provide assessment, treatment and recovery-based interventions to individuals and their families who experience serious mental illness within Barwon Health's Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services (MHDAS) in the Corio area. The position is a clinical leadership role within the Corio Continuing Care Service, with responsibility for service delivery in a dynamic community setting and for supporting program development in tertiary mental health.
Responsibilities- Operational team leader of the Corio Continuing Care Service
- Lead and support recovery-oriented assessments, treatments and interventions for adults with serious mental illness in the community
- Temporary full-time Parental Leave relief role; nurse-only applications considered
Employment Type: Temporary Full Time
Hours per fortnight: 80

About The FacilityOur major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong's CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities across the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through programs across the Barwon Southwest Region, including Torquay and Colac.
About The RoleTo provide assessment, treatment and recovery-based interventions to individuals and their families who experience serious mental illness, in line with the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022. The broader service delivery model includes consumer-centred, family/carer inclusive and timely, coordinated care.
About You- You are a Registered Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Registered Psychiatric Nurse
- A demonstrated high level of clinical skills in the assessment, treatment and continuing care of adults with mental health disorders in a community setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships and clinical service delivery under competing demands
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence
- Minimum 5 years' experience in tertiary community mental health
- Ability to work a seven-day rotating roster, including evening shifts and public holidays
