About the RoleAs a Sessional Academic you will have the opportunity to teach within our VU First Year College, which offers a unique learning experience designed specifically for first year students. VU's First Year College is looking to increase its pool of qualified people to teach into our Bachelor of Education Studies and Bachelor of Early Childhood Education degrees.
You will engage in our renowned VU Block Model, where one unit is taught at a time. This allows you to teach in small groups and provides you with an opportunity to engage with and get to know your students. Each appointment will be for a block of 4 weeks of teaching (typically 3 hours a day, 3 days a week, over 4 weeks) and provides you with an opportunity to teach at any particular time.
Responsibilities- Teach within VU First Year College and contribute to teaching into the Bachelor of Education Studies and Bachelor of Early Childhood Education degrees.
- Engage in the VU Block Model (one unit at a time) enabling small-group teaching and close student interaction.
- Deliver four-week teaching blocks (typical schedule: 3 hours per day, 3 days per week).
- Energetic, innovative, progressive, resilient and collaborative in your work.
- Excellent communicator able to collaborate effectively with colleagues across the College and the University.
