Are you a qualified Horticulturist looking for your next opportunity to thrive?

Work & Training, in partnership with our valued host organisation in beautiful Hobart, is seeking a passionate and experienced Horticulturist for a full-time, 3-month contract.

About the Role

You'll be employed by Work & Training and placed with our respected host, where you'll be working full-time (38 hours per week) in a hands-on, fulfilling horticultural role.

This is your chance to apply your expertise in a well-established and supportive environment that values your skills and contributions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement horticultural work programs across a range of landscapes and plant collections.
  • Maintain and enhance specific plant displays or collections.
  • Monitor plant health and manage pests and diseases effectively.
  • Maintain irrigation systems, horticultural equipment, and machinery in line with WHS policies.
  • Carry out other relevant duties as required.

What You Need

Essential:

  • Certificate III in Horticulture (AHC30716) or equivalent qualification from a registered training provider.

Desirable:

  • Current driver's licence.
  • First Aid – Workplace Level 2 certificate.
  • Accredited chainsaw competency.
  • Previous experience in a botanical or public garden setting.
