Gladesville Veterinary Hospital is looking to fill the role of a Casual Veterinary Receptionist.
Located in Gladesville, NSW, Gladesville Veterinary Hospital is one of the first purpose-built veterinary practices in Sydney. The practice has continued to be upgraded since its establishment in 1959 and boasts state-of-the-art facilities for both staff and patients. We insist on maintaining the highest professional standards in the treatments we offer and in promoting continuing education among all staff.

We are a busy, successful clinic in need of a Veterinary Receptionist superstar who not only understands but loves the veterinary industry. This new member of staff will know how important a cohesive, well-functioning front-of-house team is to a successful veterinary practice and would suit students, individuals seeking a role with flexible hours to fit around personal commitments, those looking to supplement their income, or anyone with a passion for customer service who enjoys working with animals in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Essential Criteria:
- Passionate and committed to caring for our patients and clients.
- Exceptional communication skills with excellent written and spoken English.
- Proven experience in a strong customer service role.
- Possess an excellent work ethic, is reliable, and has a stable work history.
- Motivated with high emotional intelligence and energy levels.
- Intermediate to advanced level of computer skills in Word and Excel.
- Strong ability to multitask and keep calm under pressure.
- Able to work in a team environment and take direction.
Knowledge of RxWorks would be an advantage, but training will be provided for the right candidate. Experience in receptionist/client services in a veterinary practice or in a medical environment is preferred. However, if you have extensive history in a customer service role in another industry, we would be keen to hear from you too.
Duties Include but are not limited to:
- Greeting and managing clients and patients.
- Answering extremely busy phone lines and dealing with a high volume of emails.
- Appointment scheduling, helping clients with OTC products, and keeping the reception area tidy and presentable.
- Client and patient data management.
- Bank reconciliations, stock deliveries, and unpacking.
- Processing pet insurance claims/pathology results.
- Providing administrative support to veterinarians and management staff.
