About The Role

The Solicitor will support the Dispute Resolution and Inquiries unit within the Legal Services and Integrity Branch. The Solicitor role will provide timely legal advice and support across a broad range of areas within the health portfolios, which may be the subject of significant disputes, claims, prosecutions, litigation or inquiries. You will be required to assist the team all aspects concerning the conduct of litigious matters involving the department, Secretary and other executive members of the department, including in the provision of advice in relation to such claims.

About The Role

About You

  • The successful candidate must hold (or be eligible to hold) a current practising certificate under the Legal Profession Uniform Law.
  • Two years post admission experience is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in complex or sensitive multi-party litigation, prosecutions, judicial review proceedings.
  • Relevant experience in government law and the provision of legal and policy advice to government, including strong statutory interpretation skills and administrative law experience.
