Family Support Worker

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and highly skilled individual to support Indigenous clients and their children in the early years so children's developmental and educational needs may be met. You will be required to assist clients in accessing available and relevant resources necessary for achieving their goals, as well as build strong relationships and partnerships across the regional network of educational and health services. This role involves engaging in key phases of the case management process and liaising with Indigenous communities and organizations servicing those communities.

Candidates Need:

  • Cert IV in Early Childhood Education and/or Community Services; or
  • Demonstrated case management and early childhood experience;
  • Previous experience with evidence-based parenting programs desirable;
  • Ability to work effectively within a large team;
  • Basic knowledge of data reporting/entry; and
  • Good written and oral communication skills.

Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Working with Children Blue Card or ability to successfully obtain a Blue Card.

Possession of a current, clean Queensland Driver's License.
