Overview

Residential Care - Youth Support Worker (ITC) Part-time and Casual. Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Hunter and Central Coast. Allambi Care is a multi-disciplinary leader in the human services field with 40+ years of experience, supporting vulnerable people through tailored services and programs.

About The Role

As a Support Worker, you will be one of the most influential people in your clients' lives. Your role will be diverse and challenging and will involve direct care for clients in settings such as houses, schools, hospitals, community centres and emergency accommodation.

Your Daily Tasks (examples)
  • Building a relationship with the people you are caring for.
  • Providing around the clock care to participants, following a structured routine developed for their needs.
  • Administering medication.
  • Transporting the people in our care to and from school, day programs and appointments.
  • Assist in the implementation of programs designed for the development of the client.
  • Report writing.
Pathway and Benefits
  • Paid induction program including the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) course through a nationally accredited provider.
  • Ongoing support and on-call assistance.
  • Probation progression toward CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services with partner RTO; up to 8 units credit possible based on induction and probation.
  • Rates commence at SCHADS Level 2 Paypoint 1 with progression through qualifications and experience.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Current Working with Children Check (paid employment).
  • Current NDIS Worker Check.
  • Current First Aid Certificate (Provide First Aid; HLTAID011).
  • National Police Check (via Employment Screening Group).
  • A current driver's licence (minimum of P2) and a vehicle that can transport upwards of 4 people.
  • Comprehensive Car Insurance.
  • Certificate of Completion: NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
  • Ability to work a 7-day shift roster.
  • Willingness to participate in pre-employment medical checks.
  • Two professional references.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Diploma of Community Services
  • Bachelor of Human Services
  • Diploma or higher in a relevant field
