The Banquet Captain oversees, plans and directs the banquet operations including the set-up of services. The successful candidate will report directly to the Banquet Manager and will partner closely with the Catering/Sales and culinary departments to ensure the banquet operations can meet the demands successfully.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Oversees the setup of meeting spaces for banquet and catering events to ensure compliance with banquet event orders (BEO) with level of service, quality and hospitality.
- Works with kitchen staff on the timing of food preparation to ensure that meals are ready on time in accordance with the event order.
- Provide exceptional guest service and supervises and directs the prompt, efficient and friendly serving of all food and beverage for banquets and events.
- Adhere and ensure that the required sanitation procedures are met for food handling safety.
- Assist with scheduling of employees.
- Completing guest checks with accuracy.
- Ability and willingness to follow established processes and procedures.
- Additional projects and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
- 2 to 4 years of experience as a banquet captain or senior server is required. Hotel banquet experience is a plus.
- Detail oriented with an outgoing personality and natural leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong level of self-discipline and leadership.
- Food Handler Certificate (if applicable)
- Knowledge of computer systems such as Excel, Word, and POS.
- This position requires a flexible schedule, must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
