Our Native Title and Indigenous Land Services team are seeking a Senior Land Research Officer with strong research and legislation interpretation skills to join their team on a permanent basis. Are you looking for a role with an important purpose?

About You

As a Senior Land Research Officer within our team, you will assist with the administration of the Government's response to native title claims and other native title matters while supporting your team of officers involved in negotiations of such matters.

Your savvy skills in research, legislation interpretation and assessment of claim information relating to negotiations will see you providing support to your team through the production of complex documents and reports that will help establish outcomes to the Government's response on native title matters.

Your attention to detail will see you successfully analyse documents and information prepared by your developing team members. You'll play a key pivotal role in supporting and reporting team progress to your Senior Project Officer while working with spatial representation of tenure research and data analysis to support the State's response to native title claims.

Your ability to monitor and identify key issues on procedures and policies relating to the administration functions within the team will see you identify operational areas of improvement and assist in the implementation of business and team strategies to streamline departmental procedures when and where required.

Under the direction of your Senior Project Officer, you'll assist with the preparation of complex documents and briefs relating to native title claims and Indigenous Land Use Agreements. Your ability to build relationships quickly will see you navigating regular interactions with other government departments and working collaboratively with local authorities, peak industry groups, members of the public and Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders on matters relevant to native title claims and other native title matters.
