Building Platforms Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Operations professional to join our team as a Building Platforms Engineer. This is a key role within our built environment, responsible for overseeing IT operations and ensuring the successful delivery of our partners.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, including platform development, deployment, networking, and operation, as well as experience with building management systems and property technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage maintenance, support, and administration activities to maximise the quality and security of platforms and services in built environments.

  • Advising on operational design practices to maximise operational value, quality, and security in built environments.

  • Engaging with delivery management colleagues to ensure correct platforms are available in a timely manner.

  • Assessing, analyzing, developing, documenting, and implementing changes based on requests for change.

  • Reviewing system software updates and identifying those that merit action.

  • Investigating and coordinating the resolution of potential and actual service problems.

  • Maintaining security administration processes and ensuring all support requests are handled according to procedures.

  • Using database management system software and tools to investigate problems, collect performance statistics, and create reports.

  • Creating, improving, and supporting quality IT services with optimal utilization of storage resources.

  • Ensuring storage and backup systems operate to required service levels.

  • Maintaining the network support process and ensuring support requests are handled according to procedures.

  • Initiating and monitoring actions to investigate and resolve issues in systems, processes, and services.

  • Handling incidents according to procedures and investigating escalated incidents.

Your Skills and Experience
  • Strong knowledge of building management systems and property technologies.

  • Understanding of Agile delivery concepts.

  • Experience with common software, hardware, networking, cloud, and non-cloud technologies in physical environments.
