The opportunity

The Team Leader Wellbeing will provide operational leadership and line management to a multidisciplinary team of mental health practitioners, including psychologists, mental health social workers, counsellors, intake workers, volunteer and student counsellors. This position will work across a range of funding streams, including community health counselling and HACC as well as the Boroondara Triannual Grant funding. The Team Leader will also be responsible for supporting the allocation of new referrals to the service, in collaboration with the Senior Counsellor and Intake team. The Team Leader is an important part of the Wellbeing leadership team, along with the Senior Counsellor and Senior Manager. The position, where possible, will also hold a small caseload and deliver counselling support to clients within AccessHC programs.

This max term 0.7 EFT role offers the flexibility to work either 3.5 days a week or, WEEK 1- 3 days or Week 2 - 4 days.

What You Will Be Doing Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational management of staff in the team, including providing regular operational one on one (line management) supervision, responding to staff queries, approving leave and other line management duties
• Support staff in the Wellbeing team to appropriately review and discharge clients, including support of discharge planning and managing caseloads to ensure service KPIs are met
• Provide clinical supervision of students, volunteer counsellors and intake staff
• Lead the recruitment, induction and training for all new staff in the Wellbeing team, including volunteers and students
• Provide clinical expertise and secondary consultation to staff and external agencies to assist with appropriate referral, assessment and treatment planning for clients
• With the Senior Counsellor and Intake team, oversee all new referrals and allocations to the Wellbeing services to ensure clients are allocated to the 'right service at the right time'
  
  

What you will bring Key Selection Criteria

• Tertiary qualification in psychology and current registration with AHPRA as a psychologist OR tertiary qualification in social work and current registration with the AASW as a mental health social worker
• Minimum of 7 years working in the Mental Health/AOD sector
• Demonstrated experience and skill in clinical risk assessment and management
• Demonstrated experience and relevant qualifications/training in provision of clinical supervision
• Demonstrated people management and leadership skills, and willingness to undertake further training in this area

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems (such as TrakCare) and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
• Ability to work creatively and safely with consumers from diverse backgrounds, including LGBTIQA+, CALD and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
• Demonstrated behaviours consistent with AccessHC values
