Overview

We are seeking a Hydraulics Engineer with a minimum of 3 years' experience in the building services industry to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the design and delivery of mechanical systems across a variety of projects, contributing to both concept and detailed design phases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and documentation of hydraulic services.
  • Preparation of calculations, specifications, and technical reports in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Coordination with internal MEP teams and external consultants (electrical and mechanical engineers, contractors).
  • Attend project and client meetings to present and discuss hydraulic design solutions.
  • Conduct site inspections and provide construction-phase support including review of shop drawings and technical submittals.
  • Ensure compliance with national and local plumbing codes and environmental requirements.
  • Support project delivery from concept through to detailed design and construction.
  • Contribute to innovation, sustainability, and water conservation strategies.
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in hydraulic services design within a building services consultancy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., AS/NZS, BS EN, or local plumbing codes depending on region).
  • Proficiency in hydraulic design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and hydraulic calculation packages).
  • Familiarity with green building certifications (e.g., LEED, BREEAM, Green Star) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and a practical, solutions-driven mindset.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Chartered or working towards Chartership (CIBSE, Engineers Australia, etc.) is an advantage.
