Overview

Base pay range: A$120,000.00/yr - A$130,000.00/yr

Accountant / Cockburn / Permanent / $120,000 - $130,000 / Bonuses / Flexible Working / Immediate Start A market leading national engineering business with sites across Australia is looking to recruit a skilled Accountant on a permanent basis. The main purpose of the Accountant will be to take ownership of finance and assist with driving the business forward. This is a great opportunity to become part of a team that develops and supports its employees.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute month end and year end closing processes including accrual accounting to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting that will aid in key decision making
  • Prepare and submit statutory financial reports to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards
  • Perform end of month and year end reconciliations, including balance sheet and intercompany accounts
  • Prepare and lodge BAS, GST and FBT returns ensuring compliance with all tax obligations and deadlines
  • Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with superannuation, payroll tax and employment related financial obligations
  • Prepare, post and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards and internal policies
  • Prepare financial statements including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reports in accordance with applicable accounting standards
  • Maintain and improve internal control procedures to ensure integrity and accuracy of financial transactions and data
  • Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations ensuring timely settlement and accurate reporting
  • Demonstrate experience in a similar role
  • Be confident with payroll
  • Show strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Proven ability to improve processes
  • Be confident with systems including Excel & Pronto
Qualifications
  • Experience in a similar accounting role
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Proficiency with Excel; familiarity with Pronto is a plus
