Join Telstra as an Email Platform Architect

Ever dreamt of being the mastermind behind millions of emails zipping across the digital universe?
This is your opportunity to own the architectural roadmap of Telstra's Email platform - the beating heart of customer connectivity. You'll be the bridge between strategy and technology, leading the charge in building scalable, resilient, and future-ready infrastructure.

What You'll Actually Do (besides being awesome):
  • Design and lead the deployment of complex email systems and network technologies
  • Translate customer, business, and regulatory requirements into scalable, cost-effective architectural solutions
  • Drive automation, orchestration, and integration across Telstra's email platforms
  • Evaluate vendor capabilities and contribute to strategic selection and delivery alignment
  • Develop and maintain platform-specific roadmaps that anticipate future business needs and technology trends
  • Ensure lifecycle documentation, architectural governance, and transition planning are maintained to the highest standards
  • Provide platform support in alignment with Telstra's DevOps principles and operational frameworks
  • Represent Telstra in industry forums and foster strong external partnerships

About You

You're a network and email systems guru with a knack for turning complexity into clarity. You've worked with POP, IMAP, SMTP, and DAV - and lived to tell the tale.

Your Toolkit
  • 10+ years in hosting, email applications, or IP networking
  • Degree in Engineering or Computer Science (bonus points for both)
  • Experience with telecommunications operators or major integrators
  • Deep understanding of high-availability application engineering
  • Proficiency in email protocols (POP, IMAP, SMTP, DAV) and RFC standards (5321, 5322)
  • Familiarity with enterprise environments:
    • Hardware: Cisco, Dell
    • Storage: NetApp
    • OS: CentOS, Red Hat, Ubuntu, XCP
    • Applications: Email vendor platforms or equivalents
  • Experience supporting live production networks and working with APIs
