As a civilian General Practitioner working with the Australian Defence Force, you will provide essential medical care and support to ADF Members.

Location: Laverton Clinic, on RAAF Base Williams, Laverton, VIC. Standard hours generally 07:30–16:00 Monday–Thursday, and a half day Friday 07:30–13:00. In this role you will work Wednesday 07:30–15:30 and Thursday 07:30–16:00.

Note: You do not need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian on-base; your job stays here even if Defence personnel you care for are deployed.

• You will deliver primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures.
• You will form part of a multidisciplinary team focused on the health and wellbeing of Defence members.
• You will assess Defence personnel for fitness for duty and provide care to support health pre- and post-deployment.
• You will provide medical technical advice to the Joint Health Unit Commanding Officer, Joint Health Command Health Centre Manager, and unit Commanders.
• You will be supported by a Team of Senior Medical Officers and uniformed colleagues.
• You may provide services in outpatient or inpatient settings as required.

• Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with AHPRA.
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) OR Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) OR Vocational Registration.
• Minimum of 2 years full-time post-graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
• Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.

• You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
• You don't need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian on-base.

In partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force personnel across Australia, including 45+ on-base locations.

Laverton Clinic is located on RAAF Base Williams in Laverton (approx. 23 km west of Melbourne CBD). This base houses specialty schools and is the headquarters for Air Force Training Group. Services include primary medical, nursing, pharmaceutical and dental care, with standard operating hours 07:30–16:00 Monday–Thursday and 07:30–13:00 on Fridays.
