What is the role

We are currently looking for an experienced Systems Engineer with a background working for an IT Systems Integrator or Managed Service Provider.

This full-time role (38 hours/week, Monday to Friday), based in our Newcastle office, involves providing technical solutions for our clients, including problem resolution, product installation, configuration, testing, and product/service recommendations.

You will service clients suited to your professional skillset, ensuring a positive experience for both you and the client, with support from our front-line team handling triaging.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Provide remote and onsite IT support
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware/network issues
  • Maintain system performance, reliability, and security
  • Collaborate with clients on technical needs
  • Recommend technologies and assist in selection
  • Create design and technical documentation
  • Support junior staff and escalate issues as needed
  • Monitor logs and respond to incidents
  • Liaise with vendors
  • Improve and automate procedures
  • Expand technical skills through training
  • Log activities accurately
  • Participate in on-call support
  • Perform other related tasks
Who we are looking for

This is a customer-facing role requiring excellent presentation and communication skills, as well as strong technical expertise. The role demands a high level of autonomy, so good time management and organizational skills are essential.

Required technical skills include:

  • Windows Server (setup, administration, support, maintenance)
  • Exchange Server (2013/16/19)
  • Office 365 (migrations, hybrid configurations)
  • Remote Desktop/Terminal Server/Citrix
  • Backup solutions (Veeam, StorageCraft, Backup Exec)
  • Basic network troubleshooting, Cisco routers preferred
  • Basic telephone system support
  • Remote support tools (TeamViewer, Remote Desktop Manager)
  • VMWare
