Overview

Downer – Bowen Hills, Queensland, Australia

Join Downer as a Boilermaker based in Bowen Hills with regular travel to regional Queensland. You will work on Queensland Rail's passenger rolling stock, undertaking scheduled maintenance, repairs, and fabrication or modification of components. This role involves both workshop and outdoor environments, requiring physical fitness to handle equipment and varying terrain.

Key responsibilities
  • Perform boiler making, welding, and fabrication tasks on railway rolling stock, sub-assemblies, and steel or metal components.
  • Use various welding and fabrication tools and techniques for structural repairs and modifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical schematics to fabricate or repair components and resolve issues.
Qualifications
  • Trade-qualified mechanical fitter or equivalent
  • MIG/ARC welding experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Continuing commitment to a Zero Harm workplace
