We have an exciting new opportunity for a 3-8 year PQE lawyer to join our dynamic Projects and Construction team in Brisbane. This is a unique opportunity to join the leading team in the market, to manage and build on a strong client portfolio, and to work on exceptional matters across the region.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with leading partner Peter Butler and other senior members of the team including Margaret Mertens who leads our Queensland construction practice, across a broad range of industries including utilities, transport, health, water, energy and other social infrastructure, on major retail and commercial property developments and on exciting projects in the growing area. On a daily basis, the role involves contract drafting, advising and negotiation for sponsors, financiers, funds, contractors, governments and other public bodies in relation to complex construction, engineering, project-finance and large-scale infrastructure projects within Australia and in the Asia-Pacific region, including PPPs and privatizations. You will also have exposure to client management and development responsibilities, and will work within a collaborative and established team.
To be successful, you will have an excellent academic record and ideally have at least 4 years of demonstrated projects experience, though we are open to considering those with less or more experience. Those with proven front-end construction experience will also have an advantage. You will be a strong team player, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a willingness to be flexible and adaptable to different working styles. You should also be comfortable working both on your own initiative as well as part of a larger team.
