Why volunteer?

Working in Aged Care can be an extremely rewarding and valuable experience. While many residents might otherwise miss out on contact from people within the local community, volunteers provide this important link and offer both companionship and casual, friendly communication. Volunteers get to share in first-hand personal stories and experiences from our resident's past while adding a new brightness to their present.

Who should volunteer?

Anyone. You don't need experience or any special skill, simply a willingness to join in activities and an interest in having a chat.

Responsibilities
  • Provide companionship to residents, with a priority on listening and talking with them.
  • Participate in activities such as arts, gardening, bus outings, reading, games, and other suitable engagements.
Qualifications & Expectations
  • No prior experience required; a willingness to participate is sufficient.
  • Interest in engaging with residents and supporting social interaction.
  • Compliance with orientation and documentation requirements as part of the volunteer onboarding.
What Would I Be Doing?

The most fundamental role is to provide companionship. In addition to this, volunteers may help with arts, gardening, bus outings, reading, games and other activities with residents.

Registration & Requirements

How do I register? Simply make an enquiry by clicking the 'Interested' button and we will be in touch to explore suitability and advise on orientation. During the interview process we will discuss suitability and advise on completion of relevant documentation and the orientation process.

Please note a Police Check is mandatory for this role. Following the conclusion of legislative requirements, you will be introduced to our Lifestyle team for induction.

Note: This role is a volunteering position and listed as temporary/occasional involvement.
