Mungabareena Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a dedicated Balert Gerrbik Practitioner to support Koori families by providing strong foundations for their children's early learning and development, as well as delivering evidence-based parenting programs, support services, and supported playgroups for families.
This identified position is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants and offers an opportunity to contribute to the strength and self-determination of the local Aboriginal community.
In this key role, you will:
- Apply your skills and knowledge in providing parenting education programs to communities throughout the Ovens Murray region of Victoria, in collaboration with the broader education and care sector.
- Gather, analyse, and disseminate information related to current parenting practices and evidence-based programs.
- Assist with developing parent education programs for families, including vulnerable and high-needs families.
- Work with isolated and rural communities, as well as with community-based organisations and providers of family support.
- Deliver quality services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families that meet and exceed their needs and expectations.
This position requires willingness to provide, complete, and submit evidence prior to employment, including:
- A current Driver's Licence
- A current Victorian Working with Children Check
- A current Police Check
- Any other checks or licences necessary for the role
Qualifications with relevant experience, or lesser formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience in early childhood, education, health, social work, community services, behavioural or social sciences, are acceptable.
