Some of Brimbanks key attractions include its state-of-the-art performance space – the 'Bowery Theatre' in St Albans; and the worldclass 'Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre' which features a 24-hour gym, waterslides, and heated Olympic sized swimming pools, along with a six green star rating for its innovative and sustainable design.

Brimbank is continuously growing, with many transformational infrastructure projects about to break ground. A key focus of the coming years will be working with the State and Federal Governments to establish Melbourne Airport Rail; to complete redevelopment of Sunshine and Albion Stations; and the realisation of the Sunshine Precinct Masterplan which will Sunshine transformed into a CBD, vastly increasing local jobs, housing, businesses, services and tourism to provide for the many tens of thousands of people living, working and travelling through the Brimbank.

We are currently seeking a Full Time Permanent staff member to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine.

The role

Reporting to the Manager City Strategy, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Place Manager to lead and implement the Go St Albans Place Management Framework. This role involves engaging with the local businesses, business association and relevant agencies to enhance the area's appeal and create a thriving environment for businesses. Brimbank City Council is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to make a real impact on the future of the St Albans Town Centre.

To be considered you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications which may include commerce, property, urban planning, urban design or business and or marketing related studies.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
  • Place management experience, and or urban redevelopment/renewal projects.
  • Well-developed communication, relationship building and negotiation skills with a track record in establishing networks, partnerships and advocacy mechanisms with key stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience in planning, business or development sectors within government or business enterprise.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to manage and deliver multiple projects
  • Local government experience is desirable
