Regional Workforce Management (RWM) is proudly Australian-owned, dedicated to connecting businesses with tailored recruitment and workforce management solutions since 2000. Formerly FIP Group, we've spent over two decades supporting the backbone of Australia - the food, agriculture, forestry and fisheries industries. By blending local expertise with a national reach, we deliver reliable and committed people who help businesses grow, thrive and stand strong.
What started as a small operation helping local businesses quickly grew into something much bigger. Our founders' ability to connect with people - sharing experiences, solutions and hope – helped forge strong bonds with businesses and communities alike. As we expanded from labour hire to permanent recruitment and into connecting skilled workers from across the borders, our mission has remained the same: to provide real solutions that save Australia's food and agriculture business time and resources.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Officer to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a pivotal role where you will oversee the full payroll function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a seamless experience for our people.
What you will be doing:
- Managing end-to-end weekly payroll processing with precision and efficiency
- Handling all payroll transactions and ensuring timely, accurate delivery
- Reviewing and verifying timesheets, approvals, and exceptions to maintain data integrity
- Updating and maintaining employee records (leave, training, enterprise agreements, and more)
- Interpreting awards, NES, and employment conditions to ensure compliance
- Administering workers' compensation payments and superannuation contributions
- Calculating terminations, adjustments, and leave accruals with accuracy
- Proactively resolving payroll queries and providing clear advice to employees
- Processing payroll transactions across both manual and automated systems
- Preparing and issuing invoices to customers based on payroll information
You are more than just numbers focused, you are a confident communicator who knows how to build strong relationships across all levels of the business. Ambitious and career driven, you are eager to take on new challenges and grow your expertise in payroll.
What you will bring to the role:
- 2+ years' experience as a Payroll Officer (preferred)
- Solid ability to interpret awards and employment conditions
- A knack for working with large volumes of data with speed and accuracy
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Proven success managing payroll for 1,500+ employees
- The flexibility to work both independently and as part of a team, always meeting daily KPIs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office and modern payroll systems
