About the Role
The Clinician will provide responsive and comprehensive psychiatric assessment, treatment and casemanagment to our target population in a variety of community and residential settings. The Clinician will engage in service development and evaluation of care as well as direct provision of case management aimed at enhancing independence, self-esteem and optimum level of functioning as part of the multidisciplinary team serving consumers, carers, residential care staff and others.
Classifications for this positions will range from Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4 NP75 - NP77 ($112,465 - $121,113 per annum pro rata)
Your Contribution
AHPRA registration and relevant qualification
Current Victorian Driver's License and confident to drive various work cars
Minimum of 2 years' experience in Mental Health
Experience in working with consumers and carers in Community psychiatry and/or aged care
Proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
Demonstrated written, organisational and verbal skills
Sound computer skills, intermediate word processing, spreadsheet and database use skills
Proven ability to work well in a busy multidisciplinary team setting
A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, or willing to obtain

POSITION PURPOSE
The Clinician will provide responsive and comprehensive psychiatric assessment, treatment and case management to our target population in a variety of community and residential settings. The Clinician will engage in service development and evaluation of care as well as direct provision of case management aimed at enhancing independence, self-esteem and optimum level of functioning as part of the multidisciplinary team serving consumers, carers, residential care staff and others.
POSITION DUTIES
- To provide assessment, care planning, clinical opinion, evidence based management strategies and expertise
- Professional provision of services to aged people with psychiatric conditions in the community, including triage, crisis response, case management and risk assessment.
- To provide discipline specific services when required in the team.
- Monitor for side effects of medication and administering of prescribed psychotropics
- Work effectively and proactively with staff of the Aged Mental Health Service and others to provide the best possible care to our population
- Participate in community development activities for the service including liaison, consultation, and education of nursing students, other professionals, consumer groups and community agencies
- Timely completion of documentation and that letters and reports are dispatched promptly and efficiently.
- Attendance and contribution to all meetings and forums relating to the service
SELECTION CRITERIA
ESSENTIAL REGISTRATION, LICENSE OR QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS- AHPRA registration and relevant qualification
- Current Victorian Driver's License and confident to drive various work cars
- Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
- Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing
- Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing, or a specialist undergraduate Mental Health Nursing program, or a specialist post basic course of training which led to registration as a Division 3 Nurse.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Mental Health
- Experience in working with consumers and carers in Community psychiatry and/or Aged care
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
- Demonstrated written, organisational and verbal skills
- Sound computer skills, intermediate word processing, spreadsheet and database use skills
- Proven ability to work well in a busy multidisciplinary team setting
