We are seeking to establish a pool of Teacher - Secondary Generalists for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2026. Waroona District High School is a small yet distinctive Independent Public School that places the needs of our students at the centre of all that we do. We pride ourselves on our unique and supportive learning environment. Being a District High School we are in the unique position of being able to offer students an educational journey that commences in Kindergarten and continues in the same school until the end of Year 10. We have approximately 300 students in the school. The RoleSuitable applicants will ideally display a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum for Years 7 to 10 across the MESH (Maths, English, Science and Humanities) Learning Areas. Experience in designing and delivering engaging specialist and elective courses is highly desirable.
We are seeking professionals who uphold high standards, embrace collaboration, and exhibit effective interpersonal skills. The ability to build positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including students, staff, and the wider community is highly desirable.
A commitment to reflective practice and an evidence-based approach to teaching will be highly regarded, along with a commitment to whole-school pedagogical frameworks. All teachers should ideally implement explicit teaching strategies, use formative assessment, and engage in rigorous data analysis to inform high-quality, targeted instruction that meets the diverse needs of students.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to differentiate the curriculum to cater for individual learning needs are highly desirable. Creating an environment that supports active, positive learning and fosters student engagement is a key focus of this role.
This position ideally requires teachers who promote inclusive educational opportunities, support a variety of learning styles, and empower students to achieve success. Experience in curriculum differentiation and a demonstrated ability to support students with diverse educational needs will be highly regarded.
