This role can be based from either our Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne office.

DWF has a flexible hybrid working environment along with regular attendance to the office.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting with various tasks on litigated and unlitigated matters as directed by the designated Fee Earners, with a view to progressing as a Lawyer with the day-to-day conduct of files.
  • Attending to legal research.
  • Assisting with document review.
  • Preparing briefs to counsel and experts.
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Communicating with external stakeholders such as other parties, insured clients, counsel, and experts.
  • Assisting with business development opportunities.
  • Appearing in court.
What will help you succeed in this role?
  • Bachelor of Law or Juris Doctor degree completed with a Distinction average.
  • Prior experience as a paralegal or law clerk at a law firm in Australia will be highly regarded.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Desire to assist others and work collaboratively in a high-performing team.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products (including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
  • A willingness to adopt and utilise AI and new technology.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
