Calamvale Special School is a Queensland State Special School providing highly individualised educational programs delivered by a multidisciplinary team of classroom teachers and support staff. We are committed to considering the way that each child's intellectual functioning impacts their ability to access and participate in learning, including communication, making sense of the world around them, forming meaningful relationships, and developing their physical and mobility capabilities.

Your Role:

The Schools Officer, reporting to the Business Manager, plays a key role in maintaining and upkeeping these areas to a high standard, ensuring facilities are safe, clean, and well-maintained for students and staff.

Responsibilities include a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard, including but not limited to:

  • Carry out minor repairs and maintenance (excluding tasks that require a qualified tradesperson)
  • General upkeep and maintenance of the school pool
  • Capability to perform tasks in accordance with workplace health and safety guidelines
  • Ability to liaise with various internal and external personnel (e.g., tradespersons) regarding repair and maintenance issues
  • Responsible for completing activities requested from the administration team (e.g., banking, post delivery/collection)
  • Distribution of stock deliveries, furniture removal, bus refueling, and other ad-hoc duties
