Join to apply for the Tribunal Coordinator role at Queensland Government.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high performing team of referral coordinators who prepare and validate referrals of workers' compensation claims from insurers to the Medical Assessment Tribunal against relevant legislation. Tribunal Coordinators work with the Medical Assessment Tribunal to prepare, validate against legislation, and support both virtual and in-person tribunal hearings across multiple specialty types, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve high quality outcomes. They ensure that information provided to the tribunal is comprehensive, supports procedural fairness for the injured worker and insurer, and that the tribunal's reasons for decision show a clear and robust path of reasoning.

The positions available are temporary full-time with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities
  • Validate and manage referrals from Queensland workers' compensation insurers against relevant legislation.
  • Prepare materials for tribunal hearings (virtual and in-person) across multiple specialty areas.
  • Provide technical advice and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to achieve high quality outcomes.
  • Ensure information provided to the tribunal is complete, procedurally fair, and that the tribunal's reasons show a robust path of reasoning.
  • Maintain and manage an allocated caseload from referral to final outcome.
  • Ensure legislative requirements are met and support the tribunal with timely information and documentation.
Qualifications
  • While there are no mandatory qualifications, it would be highly regarded if applicants have:
  • Practical experience interpreting and applying workers' compensation or similar legislation;
  • Experience in customer service and complaints management;
  • Experience in managing caseloads in a process-driven environment;
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise and negotiate while maintaining effective working relationships;
  • Practical experience in word processing, data entry, or electronic file management in a paperless office; and
  • Ability to prioritise, manage timeframes and multi-task to meet deadlines.
