We partner with some of the world's biggest brands across travel, retail, and hospitality, helping them reach over 2 billion people through advanced AI and strategic zero-party data partnerships. Backed by strong funding and global traction, we're preparing for launch across the US, UK, EU and EMEA.

We're building a world-class Engineering & Product team in Sydney and looking for a third founding Senior Backend Engineer, who's aspiring to be a Technical Team Lead within the next 12-18 months, to help shape the foundations of our platform.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and scale backend services in Java (17+)
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs
• Develop and design scalable microservices and make pragmatic architectural decisions
• Deploy and manage services on AWS (ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, Aurora)
• Implement infrastructure with IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation)
• Contribute to CI/CD, observability, automation tooling and testing
• Collaborate with Product, Frontend, and Data teams to deliver impactful features
• Use AI-powered coding tools to boost efficiency and code quality
• Participate in system architecture discussions and help shape technical direction

Bonus points for experience in:

• Event-driven architecture (SNS/SQS, Kafka)
• Familiarity with observability tools (CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, Datadog)

• Applications must be Comfortable in fast-moving startup environments with a high degree of ownership
