Overview

Penetration Testing Manager - M365 at Microsoft. Join to apply for this role with the M365 Core Substrate security team, focused on strengthening the security of Microsoft 365 products and services.

We are a team in M365 Core called Substrate; we have the responsibility to help ensure the security and trustworthiness of the M365 product suite. The Security Engineering team within M365 Core identifies threats and gaps in the infrastructure that hosts the world's largest organizations. This role blends research and hands-on testing to guide engineering toward secure, durable solutions. The Penetration Testing Manager will work on globally scaled services and provide unique experiences uncommon outside a major SAAS provider.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct offensive security assessments that simulate real-world attacks on M365 products, services, and infrastructure.
  • Identify vulnerabilities across application, network, and operational domains; collaborate with engineering and security teams to support remediation.
  • Strengthen the security posture of Microsoft's productivity suite through hands-on testing and cross-team collaboration.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience identifying security vulnerabilities, software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, and anomaly detection.
  • 1+ year of people management.
Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements. This includes specialized security screenings such as:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: required at hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in attacking AI infrastructure and models.
  • Leveraging AI for attacks and the penetration discipline.
  • Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Alternatively, 8+ years of relevant experience in identifying security vulnerabilities, software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, and anomaly detection.
