What you'll be doing

The Assistant in Nursing works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and supports the nursing team in the delivery of person-centered care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary health care team to achieve people-focused quality care.

Selection Criteria
  • Current Health Service Assistant Certificate III (Aged Care) or equivalent, or recent equivalent experience, or have completed 1 or more year's training as an undergraduate nursing student.
  • Demonstrated understanding of delegation and ability to work within a plan of care under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide person-centered care in a manner that respects the rights of individuals within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication and use of information technology.
  • Demonstrated capacity to identify and resolve conflict by managing own emotional responses and engaging professionally with others.
  • Evidence of participation in personal development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills.
Other requirements
  • Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases: This is a Category 'A' position. All new employees must comply with NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015. OASV requirements include influenza vaccination for NSW staff entering Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs).
