About the Role

As the Kitchen Hand, you will perform a variety of catering and cleaning tasks to support the effective operation of the kitchen and canteen. Your duties will ensure that safe and hygienic practices are maintained at all times. Working within a boarding school campus catering to students aged 11 to 18, you will play a vital role in providing healthy meals and snacks seven days a week during school terms. This position requires flexibility to work shifts, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Your Responsibilities

As the Kitchen Hand, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Prepare materials to be cooked in a safe and hygienic manner in the kitchen
• Cook planned meals as per the Chief Cook's instructions
• Provide service when dishing up student and staff meals
• Effectively clean benches and surfaces with sprays as deemed necessary
• Clean dishes, operate a dishwasher, stack clean crockery and utensils
• Follow Workplace Health and Safety requirements as needed
