Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology is an established and well-respected pathology practice offering comprehensive, high-quality pathology across NSW and north-west Victoria. Our practice is managed by doctors for doctors, and our success is driven by the understanding that Medical Leadership facilitates high standards of professional and operational excellence for the doctors and patients we serve.
We are seeking enthusiastic Part Time Pathology Collectors to join our vibrant Patient Services Team. You will be an essential team member, and your responsibilities will include:
- Collecting blood and non-blood samples from patients, including conducting basic tests such as ECG and Holter Monitoring.
- Following strict guidelines and procedures to ensure all samples are accurately labelled.
- Guiding patients or caregivers on sampling procedures.
- Preparing specimens for transportation to the laboratory.
We offer a comprehensive training program suitable for medical/health science students wishing to gain valuable experience in a clinical environment whilst studying. You will learn high-quality patient care and valuable clinical skills in a fast-paced, flexible working environment.
Position is open to working part-time hours on a scheduled roster Monday to Sunday plus on-call.
Ideal candidates are passionate about healthcare and committed to providing excellent care and service to patients and doctors. You should be a hard-working, motivated individual with a strong work ethic, a team player capable of working independently, with excellent written and oral communication skills, and high attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
Prior to commencement, all candidates must provide documentary evidence of:
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia.
- A National Police Check, Working with Children clearance, and First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011), required prior to starting.
Please note, our program requires a non-negotiable minimum 25 hours per week commitment.
