Adelaide Medical School showcases a vibrant research and research training environment made up of a large team of academics and titleholders, both clinical and non-clinical. The Adelaide Medical School encompasses the departments of Medical Sciences, Medical Specialties, Surgical Specialties and Women's and Children's Health.

The Lifelong Health Research Group strives to ensure that care for women and their infants is effective, and that treatment benefits outweigh harms. The Group has led randomised trials involving women with overweight or obesity, investigating a dietary and lifestyle intervention to reduce the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes.

Located at the Women's and Children's Hospital and working under general direction, the Clinical Trial Coordinator will coordinate or contribute to day-to-day tasks for several clinical research trials within the Lifelong Health Research Group, including recruitment, trial appointments, data management, ethics and governance to ensure smooth and successful performance of the research program.

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in the conduct of clinical research studies including the coordination randomised controlled trials with human participants in community and hospital settings.
  • High level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) for clinical trials in Australia
  • Ability to work well both independently and as a part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines with an ability to prioritise tasks
  • Knowledge of data extraction, entry and data management
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Familiarity with laboratory management and safety procedures
  • Knowledge of scientific and medical terminology (Desirable)

Qualification/s:

  • Completion of a relevant degree with subsequent relevant work experience
  • Certificate of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) for Clinical Trials in Australia
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training

This position requires a valid Working with Children Check.
