Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor equivalent) in Nuclear and/or Maritime Engineering
The School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (EME) is seeking a dedicated academic to join our Mechanical Engineering discipline as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor equivalent). This is a continuing (tenure-track) position for specialists in Nuclear Engineering and/or Maritime Engineering to contribute to research and teaching excellence.

About the Role
You will:
- Teach and develop courses in submarine design, naval architecture, nuclear engineering, radiation detection, nuclear safety, plasma science, thermal-fluids, propulsion, and maritime engineering.
- Conduct research in areas like naval nuclear propulsion, systems engineering, hydroacoustics, modeling, hydrodynamics, and energy technologies.
- Engage with industry, government, and academic partners to foster innovation.
Applicants with strong research records or industry experience are encouraged. The role involves contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Salary: Lecturer (Level B): $114,917 - $135,932 + 17% superannuation; Senior Lecturer (Level C): $140,127 – $161,145 + 17% superannuation.
Minimum Requirements for Level B:
- PhD in Mechanical, Nuclear Engineering, or related field with expertise in nuclear/maritime engineering.
- Research ability supporting areas like hydroacoustics, hydrodynamics, naval nuclear propulsion, energy tech.
- Publications in high-quality journals or conferences.
- Effective teaching skills and course development ability.
- Clear communication in English.
Additional Requirements for Level C:
- All Level B requirements plus a substantial research record, funding success, curriculum development, and postgraduate supervision experience.
