Do you have concreting repairs experience with bridge structures? This is an opportunity to work on maintenance and construction projects for Brisbane City Council.

Location: William Jolly Bridge, On site parking
Start and Finish Time: 6am - 4pm
4 Day Weeks at 38hrs

About your new role

You will assist with the maintenance and building of bridges and associated structures around Brisbane. You will be someone who adheres to strict WHS practices. Some of your duties may include:

  • Conduct inspections of concrete structures, focusing on areas in need of repair (e.g., crumbling sections of bridges due to rusted underlying steel).
  • Perform concrete repair tasks, including:
    • Grinding and jack hammering to remove damaged concrete ("breaking out").
    • Sandblasting surfaces to prepare for repair.
    • Applying guniting techniques (spraying concrete mix) for restoration.
    • Executing screeding and boxing to re-surface and protect repaired areas.
    • Measuring, cutting and shaping wood or metal.
    • Working in an encapsulated environment.

What you will need to exceed

It is essential that you have the following:

  • Drivers license
  • Working at height ticket
  • Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card)
  • Formwork Concreting experience (Highly Advantageous)
  • Dogman ticket (Highly Advantageous)
