Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal - Burnley

Salary up to £65,000 DOE. We have an exciting opportunity for a veterinary surgeon to join our team at Oakmount Veterinary Centre, Burnley. Your day-to-day would involve consultation days and surgery days, with the opportunity to work up your own cases. There will be some sole charge, but this is minimal.

Role and Schedule

  • Work patterns can be fixed or flexible to suit you.
  • Vets work various shifts between 8:00 am and 7:30 pm, with a 1:4 weekend rota and time off in the week in lieu.
  • There is no OOH; inpatient care is nurse-led with vets on a 1:6/7 rota to answer questions if needed.

About The Practice

Oakmount are a first opinion, small animal practice, with a referral Exotics department. The practice has 5 consulting rooms, 3 theatres (orthopaedics, soft tissue and exotics), digital x-ray with both vertical and horizontal beam, dental x-ray, ultrasound, in-house blood machines, and usual equipment. We promote preventative health care and case continuity to build strong relationships with clients and patients.

About The Team

We have 8 vets (2 clinical directors), a practice director, 10 RVNs, 3 SVNs, 2 VCAs and a support team of 6. We are an SVN training practice. The team has experience across specialties with certificates in surgery, ophthalmology and exotic animal medicine and surgery. Development is encouraged and certificates funded.
