Primary Objective: Preventative maintenance of plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and manuals with a focus on safety, quality and maximising production. Resolve operational or technical equipment problems to minimise processing/manufacturing interruptions from equipment breakdowns. Commitment to Zero Harm philosophy. Work as a member of the Mechanical Maintenance team, including contributing to a positive team environment and supporting the training and development of apprentices.

• Conduct preventative maintenance on plant and equipment, adhering to manufacturer recommendations to ensure safety, product quality, and production efficiency.
• Plan, schedule, and organize tasks independently, coordinating with other team members as necessary.
• Execute emergency work orders promptly and provide troubleshooting expertise to minimize downtime.
• Fit and assemble fabricated metal parts and subassemblies, ensuring accuracy and proper fit using precision measuring instruments.
• Set up and operate machining tools, including cutting, grinding, and drilling, to form metal stock and castings to fine tolerances.
• Diagnose faults and perform operational maintenance, overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment.
• Cut, thread, bend, and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
• Provide daily feedback and reports on work progress, identifying delays and suggesting improvements to eliminate future issues.
• Supervise apprentices and contribute to a positive team environment, participating in Safety Tool Box Meetings and maintaining a safe workplace.
• Maintain flexibility in work hours, including providing shift cover and responding to after-hours breakdowns as needed.
• Commit to a Zero Harm safety philosophy, ensuring all mechanical work complies with safety standards and regulations.
