We are looking for a highly capable tax professional to join TAL Australia, a leading life insurer with a 150-year history of protecting Australians. This role reports to the Head of Tax and involves handling a wide range of tax matters and collaborating with stakeholders across the business.

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Tax Analyst to join TAL Australia. Reporting to the Head of Tax, you'll help handle all things tax—including income tax, product tax, stamp duty, GST, FBT, and some withholding tax. You'll work closely with experienced team members and connect with people across the business to tackle a variety of tax challenges. In This Role You Will
  • Prepare tax calculations for review by senior team members
  • Work with the tax team to ensure TAL remains compliant for tax purposes, including timely lodgements and payments in line with the tax lodgement program
  • Carry out reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues
  • Test tax controls in accordance with TAL's risk management framework
  • Assist with Regulatory reviews by the ATO or State Revenue authorities as relevant
  • Collaborate with the business on rate changes announced due to legislative changes or the Federal Budget process
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in accounting or a related field
  • Experience in a similar role within financial services, advising on Australian tax matters
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Knowledge and experience of income tax as it applies to life insurance (preferred)
