Are you a skilled cook with a passion for preparing quality meals and supporting the health sector? We are looking for a dedicated Cook to join our team and make a difference in the lives of those in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee food production, ensuring meals meet high standards of quality and safety.
- Manage food orders, plating, and menu selections.
- Train apprentices and provide guidance to catering staff.
- Maintain food storage, correct handling, and ensure compliance with food safety guidelines.
- Liaise with procurement offices to manage food orders and supplies.
- Contribute to ongoing review, development, and implementation of procedures.
What We're Looking For:
- Trade qualifications or equivalent experience as a Cook.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to engage with staff at all levels.
- Flexible with work schedules and able to manage staff and priorities.
- Experience in preparing bulk meals and dietary-specific cooking.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Working knowledge of menu planning, ordering, managing stock levels, IDDSI, staff supervision and allergen management (highly desirable).
- A passion for working as a chef/cook in Aged Care & Health Care.
- Can bring innovative ideas for diverse menu selections and presentation ideas for patients with complex meal/diet requirements.

Applicant Information
This is a part time vacancy working 19 hours per week and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
