The Medical Workforce Unit is responsible for recruitment, appointment, payroll, and management of junior medical staff within ISLHD. The unit is committed to delivering high-quality, client-focused services that support the delivery of safe and efficient health services responsive to community needs. The position focuses on providing high-quality workforce services, including onboarding, payroll, agency management, and personnel administration for locum medical officers.

Wollongong Hospital, located on Dharawal Country, is the Illawarra Shoalhaven's major referral and teaching hospital with over 500 beds. The campus includes the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre and offers comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, and community services.
