As a Senior Data Architect, you'll be the driving force behind our data architecture, designing and implementing the capabilities that will power our organization's ambitious data strategy across the bank. You'll architect the foundation that enables us to build world-class data products that transform business decisions, power advanced analytics, enhance customer experiences, and forge valuable partnerships.

Success in this role requires a sophisticated understanding of how data creates business value, combined with deep technical expertise in modern data architectures. You'll be responsible for advancing our data capabilities across processes, systems, and people to meet both current demands and future aspirations. A primary focus will be designing and implementing our cloud-based data platform architecture that aligns perfectly with the Group's strategic objectives while providing the robust capabilities needed to execute our comprehensive data strategy.

As part of the Chief Data Analytics Office (CDAO), you'll join a team dedicated to delivering world-class data, analytics, and technology capabilities that directly improve the financial well-being of our customers and communities.

Our team builds and drives adoption of data products that fundamentally transform how the business makes decisions, leverages analytics, enhances customer experiences, and develops partnerships. You'll work within a forward-thinking organization that ensures our bank maintains cutting-edge data and analytics capabilities that set industry standards. Together, we're pushing boundaries on how data is consumed, stored, and delivered throughout the organization.

This role reports to the Chapter Lead – Platform Architecture and collaborates closely with various CDAO Crews. You'll be at the intersection of data strategy and technical implementation, ensuring that architectural decisions support our broader data vision while providing practical, scalable solutions for the entire organization.

We are interested in hearing from people who have:

• Advanced knowledge of data management systems, practices, and standards

• Strong data modelling, data architecture, and analytical skills

• Expert SQL proficiency, including performance optimization and tuning

• Technical expertise in modern data technologies including:

  • Cloud data platforms (AWS, Snowflake, Iceberg data lakes)

  • AI and advanced analytics capabilities

  • Big data processing frameworks

  • Data quality and governance tools

• Experience with semantic models, ontologies, knowledge graphs, and/or data virtualization (highly valued)

Technical skills:

While we use many tools and technologies, your expertise in data architecture principles and cloud platforms is more important than specific tool knowledge. You should be able to quickly adapt to our technology stack and provide thought leadership on architectural decisions.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement enterprise-scale data architecture solutions

• Experience analysing business requirements and translating them into technical data solutions

• Strong track record of architecting platform capabilities for organization-wide use

• Expertise in data privacy, security, and governance frameworks including regulatory compliance

• Experience designing scalable, reliable data infrastructure with high availability

• Proven ability to create comprehensive architectural documentation and technical standards

• Commitment to staying current with cloud platform advancements, particularly in AWS technologies
