EOI - Deputy Principal - Dalby State High School - Bunya Campus

Dalby State High School is seeking expressions of interest for a Deputy Principal to join the leadership team at Bunya Campus, a co-educational residential facility located 5 kilometres north of Dalby and approximately one hour west of Toowoomba. The 360-hectare campus accommodates up to 116 students who attend Dalby State High School and engage fully in school life while living in a supportive residential environment. The Deputy Principal will support the Head of Campus by overseeing both residential and day-to-day school operations, providing leadership in student support, managing a structured residential study program, and promoting the social and emotional wellbeing of students. This role also involves strategic planning for support staff and building strong, positive relationships with families to enhance student success and community connection.

This is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

Your Responsibilities

• Assist Head of Campus to lead the campus to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality outcomes for all stakeholders, in both living and learning contexts, in a residential setting.
• Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling and boarding and use these to inform practice and future planning for the campus.
• Provide quality leadership and capacity building for all staff in behaviour support strategies and aligning essential skills for classroom (campus) management where possible.
• Manage and resolve behaviour issues and/or student wellbeing issues, including OneSchool reporting, provision of consequences or intervention and communication with parents and other school staff.
• Provide strategic oversight for the staffing and structure of the Residential Study Programme, ensuring staff are effectively allocated to meet the identified academic needs of students.
• Design and develop an academic coaching model tailored to support identified students.
• Develop and implement student leadership programmes suitable for students in a residential environment.
• Oversees strategic vision and direction of signature agricultural programs (Innovate Ag).
• Manages campus wellbeing initiatives for both staff and students.
• Coordinate enrolment processes for all residential students.
• Coordinate Campus awards and graduation ceremony.
• Coordinate Campus marketing initiatives.
• Residential enrolment growth.
• Attendance of all Bunya students.
• A-C Achievement for all Bunya students.
• Vocational Certificate Completion for all Agricultural Certificates.
• A-C Achievement for subjects.
