The Kick-off Story
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has awarded Football Australia hosting rights for the 2026 edition of the AFC Women's Asian Cup. This marks Australia's second time hosting the event, after previously staging it in 2006, and follows the success of co-hosting the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
You will be part of a Local Organising Committee (LOC), which has been established for the sole purpose of delivering the 2026 edition of the AFC Women's Asian Cup in Australia.
This prestigious event will bring together 12 nations in a tournament structured into three groups of four. We are eager to create another tournament that celebrates women's football and multicultural Australia and also delivers legacy outcomes for football and Australian society more broadly.

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Transport Coordinator to support with the successful delivery of all transport services for the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup in Australia.
The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For
Relationship Management: the Transport Coordinator will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure development and delivery of training and onboarding for the Transport Team to deliver high-quality transport services across all client groups. Liaise with bus and fleet vehicle providers, including assisting with the onboarding programme.
Development and Planning: Play a key role in the development and implementation of processes and operations and acting as the key contact point for enquiries. Understand and assist with training, to implement key policies and guidelines for transport requirements. Assist with planning in consultation with relevant key stakeholders. Assist with Supplier management for effective integration and operation.
Event Operations: Assist the Transport Manager during the delivery of transport services, with the support of service providers, during the tournament and any periphery events. Act as liaison with Transport stakeholders and team members for Transport-related activities. Monitor and input activities and incidents into WeTrack platform during Tournament operations to ensure Transport Programme Area adheres to organisational objectives and timeframes. Assist in the preparation of detailed records of transport activity, incidents and other critical documentation for post-event analysis and reporting.
Budget and Financial Management: Assist the Transport Manager with monitoring of, and reporting on, the operational budget for the duration of the event.
Reporting and Evaluation: Collate information to support post-event evaluations with relevant program areas and stakeholders. Assist with the preparation of required reports.

What Gets You in the Game?
- 5+ years of experience in the major events industry or related fields.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications to support event in Transport / Traffic, Sports and or Event Management, or related field.
- Experience related to transport for Major Sports Events and an understanding of transport in major events with international sporting teams.
- Attention to detail and a strong ability to manage operational processes effectively.
- Strong experience in relation to reporting and process management in the event context.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent public speaking skills.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work with agility, foster trust, embrace inclusivity, collaborate as one united team, and consistently strive for excellence.

Working with children check (paid/employee) or state-based equivalent
International Criminal History Record for each country (other than Australia) in which you have resided for 12 months or more in the last 10 years (if applicable)
Out of hours and weekend work as required
