As a Professional Engineer, you will work with and actively contribute to an effective and experienced team who will help you to further develop your skills and knowledge.
About You and the RoleTo excel in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, acceptable for admission as a professional engineer to Engineers Australia, or equivalent professional body
- Minimum 3 years' experience (engineering design consultancy environment is preferred)
- Undertaken previous projects in utilities, renewables, industrial, commercial or building services
- Client and project management
- SCADA, telemetry, control/automation system design and testing including data communications protocols/interfaces, networking, device programming, device configuration and field testing/commissioning
- Ability to read and develop LV single line diagrams
- Cable design, sizing and selection
- Protection systems
- Variable speed drives
- Load flow and fault level studies
- Lighting and power distribution design
- Switchboard design and specification
The role is based in our Hobart office; however, flexible work arrangements are considered. Given the diversity of our clients and projects, there may be some local, national and international travel required.
You are bright, driven, passionate, and open to continual learning alongside our industry experts. You'll want to cement a career in the renewable energy industry, be comfortable in shifting between the field and office environments, enjoy being challenged by multiple complex technical disciplines and technologies, and have a solid understanding of safety processes and business protocols.
Communication is one of your key strengths; you're able to articulate your message both verbally and in writing to stakeholders at all business levels. You are computer savvy, a methodical and logical thinker with outside-the-box problem-solving skills. You're a good team player and enthusiastic to roll your sleeves up and get the job done but with a strong attention to detail ensuring the work you're producing is of high quality.
