About this role
This is a 6-month role working as part of the accredited Advanced Trainee (General Medicine - Respiratory term) traineeship program. We consider both full-time and part-time employment options.
In this role, you will provide effective clinical management of patients admitted under respiratory medicine, consult with other departments and participate in outpatient clinics, including the pulmonary hypertension clinic. You will gain experience in procedures such as bronchoscopies and EBUS.
You will develop expertise in medical practice, quality assurance and participate in medical education and supervision of junior team members.

The successful applicant will have a strong interest in Respiratory Medicine, excellent written and oral communication skills, and actively engage in teaching and quality assurance activities.
To be eligible to apply, you must be one of the following:
- An advanced trainee wishing to complete General Medicine - Respiratory term rotation or Dual Training; or
- A trainee eligible for top-up training in General Medicine - Respiratory term following RACP assessment.
Additionally, the following requirements are essential:
- You must have full Australian Working Rights
- You must be an AHPRA Registered Medical Practitioner
- You must have MBBS or equivalent with at least 4 years post-graduate experience
- You must have demonstrated high-level independent clinical skills and judgement, with the ability to make sound decisions and problem solve with an awareness of limitations and ability to learn independently and modify behaviour accordingly
- You must have previous experience in and willingness to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training
- You must have a proven commitment to your Advanced Training program, including education, research and training
- You must be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- You must have proven competency in clinical skills, including effective assessment, care planning, care provision, case management and management of clinical emergencies
