THE ROLE:
You'll be responsible for optimising and managing our assets and portfolio within the spot physical markets. This includes executing effective short-term trading and commercial strategies, as well as managing commodity market risk exposures. Additionally, you'll oversee the real-time and day-ahead power and gas positions to ensure optimal performance and risk management.
ABOUT YOU:
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Economics, Finance, Engineering or other relevant area.
- Experience across generation, gas and retail business commercial operations, relating to a physical spot market, preferably in Australia.
- Thorough understanding of power and gas system operations.
- Excellent communication skills, effective time management and prioritisation skills.
- Intermediate to Advanced IT competency e.g., MS Excel and typical energy market trading systems.
- Strong analytical skills – ability to create models and analyse data in order to reinforce commercial decisions and understand market conditions.
- Ability to analyse problems and identify appropriate and effective solutions in pressurised situations.
