User Researcher Job Description
LexisNexis is seeking an early-career User Researcher to join our UX team in Sydney. As a UX Researcher, you'll work closely with senior researchers, UX designers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to uncover user needs, behaviours, and motivations.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to build a meaningful career in research and UX—especially if you're eager to learn, take initiative, and grow your technical skills in a corporate yet agile product environment.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Psychology, Human Factors, Anthropology, Human Geography, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in user research, preferably within a product or technology environment.
- Familiarity with a variety of research methodologies (interviews, observations, usability testing, task analysis, etc.).
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, cross-functional setting.
- Curious about complex systems like the legal industry (no legal background required).
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Eagerness to learn and develop your research toolkit.
Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting user research for products and features using qualitative and (optionally) quantitative methods.
- Support small to mid-sized projects, guided by experienced senior researchers.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand research objectives and align on key questions.
- Analyse and synthesise data into actionable insights.
- Advocate for user needs across design, product, and development teams.
- Stay informed about competitor products and industry trends.
- Help with research operations including participant recruiting and compliance processes.
